I’ve only recently started to appreciate drinking whisky as I love my reds as you can imagine with my recent post on the ETO Decanter. True whisky lovers will strongly disagree with the way I like to drink it, which I enjoy with a large ice ball. I find that regular ice cubes tend to melt too quickly, diluting and altering the taste of the whisky. You may have noticed that some bartenders now use large spheric ice balls that fill most of the glass. Not only do they impress when served but it serves a purpose by chilling your drink quite rapidly due to the fact that there is less surface exposed to warm liquid. Consequently with less surface in contact the ice doesn’t melt as fast as regular ice cubes would, leaving you more time to enjoy the taste of your whisky. So why not replicate this at home with an Ice Ball Maker to make the perfect ice balls for you to savour your bourbon, rye, Scotch, or whisky. It’s nice to look at and very appreciable once in your glass. BUY
