It seems that self driving cars, once a futuristic concept, are now becoming a reality. Uber has announced a partnership with Volvo to develop autonomous cars in Pittsburgh, USA. The companies have agreed to spend $300 million to develop fully autonomous cars to hit the road by 2021. For now the fleet will be supervised by humans in the driver’s seat. The Volvo XC90 sport utility is fitted with sensors, cameras, lasers, radars and GPS receivers to autonomously drive you to your destination. 100 cars are to be delivered by the end of the year.
Did you know: The goal for Uber is to replace 1 million drivers with robot drivers as soon as possible.
