Take 25 minutes of your time to watch with beautifully filmed video called Surf in Siberia Arctic Ocean 5. The film shows the passion of 2 Russian surfers who surf the far North of Russia where conditions are extremely harsh and with very few souls to tread the immense land. The landscapes are beautiful with vast nature surroundings and abandoned villages which once thrived in the past. The 2 men take us through their journey on different sites and seasons and tell us about their country, childhood, fears and conditions they have learned to overcome in and out of these freezing conditions. Surfing in Arctic conditions in subzero temperatures and no showers when out of the water is not for the faint at heart. And they do not recommend anyone trying what they do as time and experience have taught them to adapt, relying only on themselves.
Did you know: The size of Siberia is 9,734 thousand square km. This is 57% of the whole of Russia. By its surface area Siberia is comparable with Canada. (source)
