If you happen to be in Paris this summer you might write down on your agenda a visit to the Steve McQueen Style exhibition at the Galerie Joseph at 116 rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris (4th July-30th August). The exhibition will cover four themes which relate to McQueen’s life, his Life as a movie star, the fashion icon, the car and motorbike enthusiast, and his private life. With 27 films made over 24 years, from tv series to iconic films such as Bullit, the Great Escape, and the Thomas Crown Affair, the man is none less than an icon of cool to this day. By the clothes and watches he wore with his natural stylish nonchalance to the cars and motorbikes he drove, whatever he touched would become iconic pieces themselves. He was a man of passion who liked speed but also a man who loved, was liked by children, and was affectionate with pets. An exhibition not to be missed for all who admired the King of Cool and his anti-hero persona.
Did you know: He had a collection of 130 motorcycles. Most of them were sold in auction around 4 years after his death.(source)
