The idea of the Orbitkey came about from its startup founders Charles and Rex who wanted to find a solution to rattling keys in their pockets. What started as a personal idea was introduced to the crowdfunding community which rapidly had a great response gathering more than $210,000 in 30 days on Kickstarter. With the initial target of $10,000 significantly surpassed, it was enough for the Orbitkey founders to drop their respective jobs in industrial design and pharmacy to fly overseas to follow every step of the development and production. The Orbitkey, which was initially a side project, is composed of a small team which are based in Melbourne and New York ensuring the quality and the evolution of their products.
