Lumipod a minimal prefab cabin

You may like the idea of going “Into the Wild” but maybe not so keen on sleeping in a rusty abandoned bus in the middle of the woods. As a city dweller, escaping to nature with all the comforts of a hotel may be more to your liking.

The Lumipod designed by French company Lumincene, is a prefab cabin which acts like a cocoon you can set in the middle of nature with a 4 star hotel experience. We are far from the days when prefab were boring boxy dwellings, which weren’t aesthetically thrilling and you would want to stay in.

With sustainability in mind, the Lumipod is supported by four light screw pillars in order to minimise the impact on the environment. The burn’t wood exterior cladding ensures it stays in harmony with nature. As for the amenities they are up to the standards of a hotel room with a bathroom, closet, and a bedroom. The best part is that you will enjoy panoramic views from your bed, with double glazed floor to ceiling curved glass you can slide open. You room then turns into a covered outdoor space.

The Lumipod can be costumed to your requirements and manufactured within 2 to 4 months depending on the finishes. It can then be transported to your desired location either by road or maritime transport. Once delivered, their team will then set up the Lumipod onsite within a 2 day time frame. More info
