Paris is no longer the sleepy city it used to be, with new places popping up like mushrooms. Which is good news for the city of lights, in the hope it will entice foreigners to come back and visit after all it has gone through lately. After walking out of the FIAC exhibition and looking at the sculptures at Place Vendome on a freezing day, my friend suggested going to Le Roch Hotel & Spa for a drink in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. First reaction upon entering was “Wow!” This place is very nice with a great lounge area with sofas set beside a chimney, a library, a bar and the restaurant. The decor is very chic yet very cosy. The hotel was designed by Sarah Lavoine, the IT interior designer of the moment in Paris, whose work I really admire. The restaurant menu is not overly priced unlike the Costes (who have spiked up their prices recently). Take a look at the website, check out the rooms and you may well be tempted to make a booking for your next trip. BOOK HERE
TRD: If you’re freezing your butts off and don’t know where to go for a drink, I’d suggest getting there early with some friends making yourselves comfortable on those couches and getting a bottle of wine and some nibbles by the chimney. You will be able to observe the Chic Parisian crowd wining and dining.
Did you know: Outside the Louvre there is also a statue of Sarah Lavoine’s ancestor Prince Józef Antoni Poniatowski, a Polish leader whom Napoleon made a Marshal of the French Empire. Sarah Lavoine is also married to famous French singer Marc Lavoine.
