Technology never ceases to surprise us these days with very interesting technological developments that have made the seemingly impossible become the present as we live in an increasingly tech-enhanced world. Honda has contributed recently at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas where it unveiled its Honda “Riding Assist” technology, which allows the motorbike to be self balancing, resulting in reduced risk of the rider falling when the bike is at rest or at low speed. It will even follow you like your pet dog would do while you walk ahead of it. Watching the video is quite bizarre as you see a heavy looking bike follow the person walking ahead with no driver assistance. At this stage the bike is still a prototype and we are yet to see if this will become a technology available to us in the near future, so for now you’ll just have to push it.
TRD: This would solve the issue of having to retrieve your bike the day after office drinks as your bike would just follow you home. Now to teach it to buy me a kebab on the way.
Did you know: The founder of Honda, Soichiro Honda, had no formal education and starting working as a mechanic at the age of 15. He started the company in 1946 with a team of 12 men operating out of a shack producing engines that could be attached to bikes.
