The Ford Bronco shifts from petrol to electric thanks to the work and design of Zero Labs Automotive. Gone are the days when the Toyota Prius was the only option towards driving electric. It was the first step to cleaner cars but far from sexy. Let’s be honest most of us love SUV’s. But in a growing eco conscious world, there is a lot of guilt with driving such cars. Thankfully car companies and designers are making options more appealing than vehicles styled for a grandfather.
This modern take on the Ford Bronco is a beautiful example. Its design although contemporary looks like the first generation 2 door Bronco. On the outside the body panels are made from carbon fibre. On the inside the interiors are gracefully made with walnut, bamboo panels and vegan leather materials.
The car also packs a lot of power with 369 horsepower with a 300 km range. It has 5 five-speed manual transmission which is not common on electric cars with part time/full four-wheel drive. So although it is electric it has all the off road capabilities you’d expect from a 4×4.
The only downside is that there will only be 150 Zero Labs Broncos to hit production. And with that will come a hefty price tag which is expected to be over $250 000. Reservations are open on the first run at Zero Labs.
Did you know: To save costs, the left and right door skins are identical on the first generation Bronco’s, except for mounting holes. It is once the holes are punched and the door are attached that they become left and right sided doors. (Source)
